HISTORY OF BORLAND DELPHI

Revealing History of Borland Delphi. Delphi programming language is object-oriented programming is a development of the Pascal programming language. Pascal is a DOS based programming created in 1971 by Niklaus Wirth of Switzerland. The word derives from the name Pascal matematikiawan and philosopher from France, namely Blaise Pascal, who was born in 1623 and died in 1662. Pascal was released in 1983 by Borland International, one of the leading software companies in California.

In 1993, Borland International developed a visual programming language on the so-called Delphi pascal and officially marketed in 1995. This created a modern programming that runs on Windows Operating System from the first version is Delphi 1 and in subsequent years Delphi continues to be developed following the needs time (Kani, Firmansyah, & Sufandi, 2010).

One feature of Delphi is support for database application that allows users to interact with information stored in the database. Delphi also provides plenty of technology options for developers to build database applications so developers can develop applications with access to the most appropriate mechanisms as needed.

Integrated Development Environment (IDE) Delphi is an integrated display that looked at the menu and tools that separate but closely related that the entire unit in the coordination. Functioning as the control center from the main menu, pallet components, forms, code editor, object inspector and object treeview used to design, write program code and set the appearance of applications in a variety of models (Madcoms, 2003).

Advantages and Disadvantages of BORLAND DELPHI

Delphi is an IDE compiler for Pascal programming language. Borland Delphi is a very popular programming language, even when first launched direct much pleased the computer programmer. In this case because Delphi provides many facilities to make application with visual interface and provide satisfactory results. But in this world nothing is perfect, as well as Borland Delphi product, here are some of the advantages and disadvantages that exist in Borland Delphi:

1. An object-oriented programming, which has the properties can be changed, such as the look of the program have a place to design the program without having to make a long script code.
2. An .EXE file after the results of the program finishes, can be operated directly on another computer without having to include a file to another file, unless the file was berentensi such as *.Exe or applications that must membutukan database connection or other supporting file.
3. Borland Delphi 7 launched together with Borland Kylix 3 based on Linux, so if at any time you want to switch to the Linux operating system windows, applications created can be directly executed in the same application Kylix 3 products from Borland

Disadvantages Borland Delphi.

• Borland Delphi is actually a shortage of highly visible is the file that existed at Borland Delphi is * .exe, so the memory that is used must be fairly large.
